About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Palliative Medicine Consultant to join our team at Wye Valley NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide medical leadership, direct patient care, and training to our staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide palliative care assessments and advice to patients and healthcare professionals in various settings, including hospital wards, outpatient clinics, and patients' homes.
  • Take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients, including developing and implementing individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care, and contribute to the development of new initiatives and specialty interests.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities, including medical students and junior doctors, to ensure the development of palliative care skills and knowledge within the team.
Requirements
  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification.
  • On the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT from the date of interview.
  • Higher Medical Degree.
  • Experience in working effectively within a multidisciplinary team and specialist palliative care unit, with experience and confidence at consultant level.
