Job Summary

OBM People is seeking an experienced Forklift Driver to support our oil and gas service client in Peterhead. The successful candidate will be qualified to operate 5-15 ton Counterbalance Forklifts and contribute to the safe and efficient loading/offloading of cargo from vessels, vehicles, and base areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily checks and complete associate compliance documentation to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist the maintenance team as required in the upkeep of Forklifts, adhering to company procedures and industry best practices.
  • Perform forklift duties as per operational requirements, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Proactively assist with the control of third-party vehicles on site to maintain a safe system of work.
  • Visually inspect all cargo prior to lifting, identifying potential hazards or loose objects, and report any non-compliant cargo to the relevant personnel.
  • Support quayside operations, undertaking cargo handling and vessel loading/unloading in line with applicable competence, operating instructions, and HSSEQ standards.
  • Assist in the coordination and processing of crane lifting operations, ensuring vessels are turned around in accordance with Operations/Shipping plans.
  • Liaise with the Quayside Supervisor, communicating any problems or delays with cargo operations.
  • Participate in and contribute to the day-to-day interface between lifting operations and other affected areas.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required, based on applicable training and competency assessments.

Required Competences

  • RTITB Counter Balance Forklift Certificate
