Job Title: Associate Design Director

We are seeking an experienced Associate Design Director to join our team at Egis Group. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of our engineering design centre strategy and team management structure for transportation in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and implement the Egis Group's engineering design centre strategy and team management structure for transportation in the UK.
  • Manage a team of engineers, BIM managers, BIM coordinators, document controllers, and GIS specialists to produce high-quality engineering design deliverables.
  • Take a lead role in managing the design team in your discipline and ensuring technical aspects are coordinated across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Review and evaluate design documentation to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
  • Implement rail industry standards to ensure compliance of engineering deliverables.
  • Brief the project team on standard updates as necessary.
  • Ensure consistency of deliverables across all projects.
  • Plan and coordinate activities of the design team.
  • Coordinate quality aspects of sub-systems deliverables.
  • Review and approve deliverables, acting as a technical control level across projects.
  • Maintain and develop team competency within your discipline.
BIM Management & Development:
  • Define Egis Group's BIM/digital strategy and establish ISO 19650 accreditation for transportation in the UK.
  • Define a BIM implementation plan and roadmap to reach BIM Level 2 to ISO 1950 series.
  • Ensure BIM processes and protocols for input data management and external deliverables.
  • Produce BIM execution plans and digital strategies.
  • Define collaborative processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all data generated by Egis personnel meets project requirements.
  • Define approach to project modelling, train, develop, and support team members.
  • Manage coordination of CAD/3D model and established workflows.
  • Manage GIS/3D modelling and schedule interfaces.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in engineering/technical functions, with at least 5 years' experience as a design manager/BIM manager/production manager in major infrastructure/transportation projects.
  • Proven capability in managing design interfaces, integration processes, and defining a project's digital strategy.
  • A clear understanding of our multi-disciplinary design approach and delivery of projects to a high quality throughout all design stage gates.
  • Good knowledge of UK design standards, such as Network Rail, HS2, and TfL.
  • Experience of implementing BIM Level 2 accreditation/certification to ISO 19650 within a business environment.
  • Track record of mobilizing teams to ISO 19650 on project kick-offs.
