Garden Department Leader

As a key member of the Dobbies team, the Horticulture Manager will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences across our stores. This involves driving sales, promoting customer loyalty, providing expert plant advice, and maintaining department standards while working closely with the general manager to set a high standard within the flagship department.

Responsibilities

• Maximise profitable sales and growth in the horticulture department while creating a unique customer-focused environment.
• Provide expert guidance and advice on plant care, maintenance, and gardening products to customers.
• Inspire and motivate the team to deliver exceptional in-store experiences and customer journeys.
• Collaborate with central support teams to maintain excellent communication and improve business operations.
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are upheld across the store, prioritising employee and customer well-being.
• Assume duty manager responsibilities, including key holder duties as a member of the senior management team.

Requirements

• Possess horticultural expertise and experience in retail management.
• Demonstrate commercial awareness and budgeting skills, with a focus on driving sales and improving ways of working.
• Identify training needs and effectively coach and train team members to deliver exceptional customer experiences and safe centre environments.
• Show adaptability and enthusiasm in response to changing priorities, workload, and new regulations or requirements.
• Lead the team through each season with care and motivation, delivering the best results.
• Demonstrate Dobbies' values at all times, prioritising teamwork, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
