Planning Policy Officer

We are seeking a skilled Planning Policy Officer to join our Policy and Advocacy Team at an exciting time for CPRE. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in influencing national planning policy and legislation, providing expert planning support and advice, and advocating for countryside-friendly solutions to the biggest threats facing rural England today.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce research and analysis relating to key policy asks, using Geographic Information System (GIS) software.
- Write planning blogs or explainers with colleagues, join calls with external stakeholders, MPs, and civil servants, and help communicate CPRE policy positions.
- Provide planning support to our members and CPRE network, and help respond to government consultations on a wide range of relevant topics.
- Work closely with the planning policy manager, head of policy and planning, and campaigns lead to achieve our policy objectives.
What You'll Need:
- Strong knowledge of planning policy and legislation, with a focus on rural planning.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Experience working with GIS software and spatial analysis techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
