As a General Practitioner, you will be responsible for the safe, effective, and timely delivery of medical assessments on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for new recruits to the Royal Navy, the Marines, and the Reserves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough medical assessments to determine the fitness of candidates for military service.
  • Review medical records and optician reports to identify potential health risks.
  • Collaborate with senior Naval clinicians to discuss and determine the final outcome of medical assessments.
  • Provide high-quality clinical care and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in regular Clinical Governance meetings and adhere to clinical guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK)
  • Full Registration with the GMC and record of Continuous Professional Development
  • Good organisational and communication skills
