Job Title: English Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our team at Groveside School in Reading, Berkshire. As a key member of our teaching staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.

About the Role

As an English Teacher at Groveside School, you will be responsible for teaching English to students aged 7-16. You will work closely with our literacy intervention team to develop and implement effective strategies to improve literacy standards across the school. Your role will involve delivering whole-school training on English and literacy strategies, as well as holding colleagues accountable for the development of their practice in relation to the subjects you lead.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver inclusive, responsive, and innovative teaching and learning within the curriculum area of English.
  • Constantly strive to produce outstanding/good teaching and learning at all times to ensure that all learners succeed.
  • Work closely with the literacy intervention team to develop and implement effective strategies to improve literacy standards across the school.
  • Deliver whole-school training on English and literacy strategies.
  • Hold colleagues accountable for the development of their practice in relation to the subjects you lead.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
  • A deeply held conviction that every pupil can achieve and reach their potential.
  • The belief that all pupils deserve a life of choice and opportunity.
  • Ability to be adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
  • Ability to support colleagues in developing their practice in relation to the subjects you lead.
