Job Title: English Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our team at Groveside School in Reading, Berkshire. As a key member of our teaching staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs.

About the Role

As an English Teacher at Groveside School, you will be responsible for teaching English to students aged 7-16. You will work closely with our literacy intervention team to develop and implement effective strategies to improve literacy standards across the school. Your role will involve delivering whole-school training on English and literacy strategies, as well as holding colleagues accountable for the development of their practice in relation to the subjects you lead.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students aged 7-16
  • Work closely with the literacy intervention team to develop and implement effective strategies to improve literacy standards
  • Deliver whole-school training on English and literacy strategies
  • Hold colleagues accountable for the development of their practice in relation to the subjects you lead
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
  • Experience of teaching English to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
