The role of Commercial Procurement Specialist will sit within the TRU Central delivery team, reporting to the Programme Procurement Manager. The successful candidate will work on the W2BC major enhancement project, which commissions in 2032.

The W2BC project is a £1.5B major enhancement project located between Stalybridge and Huddersfield. It consists of line speed increases, full electrification, and the addition of a third line between Marsden and Gledholt. The project also includes track and drainage renewals, new and modified train stations, and major civil engineering interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement individual project and steady state contracting strategy proposals.
  2. Provide post contract commercial management support for a range of contracts.
  3. Support senior staff in respect of individual projects and/or contract/commercial issues.
  4. Target specific goods, services, and/or suppliers to identify improvements in procurement.
  5. Undertake regular contract management meetings with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  6. Manage responsibilities for endorsements and approval of contract variations.

Contract Type: Full time - Permanent. Office Requirement: A minimum of 3 days. 28 days annual leave + bank holidays.
