Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Huntingdon. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of electrical systems for various building service projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Electrical Design Process: Develop and implement electrical design strategies for building service projects from concept to completion.
  • Electrical Design Development: Create detailed electrical designs, including schematics, layouts, and specifications, to ensure seamless integration with overall building designs.
  • Site Surveys and Assessments: Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather necessary information for design purposes, ensuring accurate and efficient design solutions.
  • Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall building designs.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, maintaining the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Technical Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and documentation to stakeholders, providing clear and concise information.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Project Coordination: Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and provide solutions, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Electrical System Installation and Testing: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Industry Trends and Best Practices: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve design solutions and services.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
