Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of electrical systems for various building service projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Electrical Design Process: Oversee the electrical design process for building service projects from concept to completion, ensuring seamless integration with overall building designs.
  • Develop Electrical Designs: Create detailed electrical designs, including schematics, layouts, and specifications, using industry-standard software.
  • Conduct Site Surveys: Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather necessary information for design purposes, ensuring accurate and efficient design solutions.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall building designs.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, maintaining the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Prepare Technical Reports: Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and documentation, effectively communicating design solutions to clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Participate in Project Meetings: Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients to understand their requirements and provide solutions, ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
  • Oversee Installation: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring timely and efficient project completion.
  • Stay Updated: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, applying innovative solutions to design challenges.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer Licence: Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) licence or equivalent certificate, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the profession.
  • Experience: Have a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in electrical design within the building services sector, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs.
  • Electrical Design Software: Be proficient in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and ETAP.
  • Industry Knowledge: Have strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations, ensuring compliance and quality in design solutions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Possess excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, applying analytical thinking to design challenges.
  • Communication Skills: Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, effectively collaborating with stakeholders and clients.
  • Project Management: Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with project management experience being a plus.
