Automation Engineer Job Description

Te-Tech Process Solutions, a part of the Trant Group, is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their team in Southampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and installing high-quality control panels, motor control centers, and automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct pre-contract site surveys to ensure accurate project planning.
  2. Select and purchase equipment to meet project requirements.
  3. Develop control system documentation, including FDS, SDS, FAT, and SAT.
  4. Create risk assessments, method statements, site progress reports, and other necessary paperwork.
  5. Configure and program multiple PLC, HMI, SCADA, and telemetry systems, including Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, and Mitsubishi.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience as an Automation Engineer.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills for client-facing work.
  3. Hardworking and self-motivated individual.
  4. Desirable but not essential: hands-on electrical skills/qualifications and onsite fault finding/modification of electrical control systems.
  5. Relevant engineering qualification or experience.
