About the Role

The University of Leicester is seeking a highly skilled Programme Coordinator to join its esteemed team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in supporting the Project LIGHT initiative, a pioneering staff-student partnership within the Leicester Medical School.

In this dynamic position, you will coordinate between academic leads, placement partners, student volunteers, and host charities. Your responsibilities will include scheduling volunteer placements, maintaining a database of active volunteers, and ensuring seamless communication with charities.

You will also mentor students, fostering relationships that support their development and the success of Project LIGHT's outreach efforts. Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring the continued impact and operational success of Project LIGHT, as well as enriching the student experience in line with the University's values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate between academic leads, placement partners, student volunteers, and host charities
  • Schedule volunteer placements and maintain a database of active volunteers
  • Ensure seamless communication with charities
  • Mentor students and foster relationships that support their development

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Substantial experience in a similar administrative setting
  • A strong customer service ethos and skills in managing databases
  • Familiarity with external stakeholder engagement and experience in providing administrative support in a busy environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
