Ophthalmology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmology Consultant to join our team at the Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Ophthalmology, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our ophthalmology services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical care to patients with ophthalmic conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, and other eye diseases.
- Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including junior doctors, nurses, and other support staff, to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and ensure compliance with national guidelines.
- Participate in medical education and training, including teaching medical students and junior doctors.
- Contribute to the development of our ophthalmology services, including the design and implementation of new clinical pathways and protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients with complex needs.
- Completion of specialist training in ophthalmology.
- Experience in leading a team of healthcare professionals.
- Strong clinical and leadership skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and mutual respect.
