Social Worker Degree Apprentice

As a Social Worker Degree Apprentice at South Gloucestershire Council, you will have the opportunity to complete a BSc Hons Degree in Social Work and progress your career as a Social Worker. This role allows you to make a positive impact on the lives of adults, children, carers, and families, supporting positive change and development.
What You Will Be Doing:- Completing a BSc Hons Degree in Social Work with The Open University
- Progressing your career as a Social Worker, working with adults, children, carers, and families
- Developing collaborative working relationships with professionals, communities, and individuals
- Undertaking rotational placements to gain experience in Children's services and Adults services
- Completing a practice-focused work-based learning module, including a defined period of assessed practice learning
- Minimum qualification in GCSE/Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths at grade C or 4 and above
- Employed at South Gloucestershire Council for a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a permanent contract of employment and successful completion of probationary period
- Valid right to work in England for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
- Employed by South Gloucestershire Council in the following fields of work: Social Work Assistant, 0-25, Family and Support Services, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Personal Advisor, with at least one year of experience by the application deadline date
- Full valid driving licence with regular access to a vehicle or alternative appropriate means of travel
- Ability to demonstrate IT competence through self-declaration
- Passionate about making a difference in people's lives
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with professionals, communities, and individuals
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
Please note that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for both Child and Adults will be required for this apprenticeship.
