Job Description

This part-time Nurse Instructor position is responsible for teaching students in an assigned field of study using diverse instruction methods and tools. The successful candidate will develop curriculum, prepare teaching materials, and provide assessments of students' progress. This role ensures proper stewardship of college facilities, equipment, and other inventories, upholding the College's policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Masters degree in Nursing/Education or related/equivalent, PhD preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years recent experience in nursing education and nursing experience in one or more of the following specialties: Mental Health, Community/Public Health, Gerontology, Maternity, Medical/Surgical, Home Care, Palliative Care, Pediatrics.
  • BC Provincial Instructor's Diploma or equivalent, or plan to complete the PID Program within an appropriate time frame.
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring adult learners in classroom and clinical settings.
  • Effective communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $68,391 - $109,583 based on FTE, prorated hourly rate $68.39 - $109.58. Starting salary will be determined by education, experience, and placement criteria as outlined in the VCCFA Collective Agreement.
