About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join our team in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

This is a challenging opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor with a strong background in project management, contract administration, and survey work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the interface between clients, designers, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop scope, budget costs, and programmes for proposed project works, and manage tender processes.
  • Liaise regularly with clients to understand their requirements and provide guidance on effective procurement approaches.
  • Manage design, programme, and cost information to support decision-making and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
Survey Work:
  • Undertake various types of survey work, including dilapidation, PPM, condition, schedule of condition, and pre-acquisition surveys.
  • Provide clear and concise reports and advise clients throughout the process, ensuring compliance with legal constraints.
General Duties:
  • Oversee and approve the work of sub-consultants and junior members of staff.
  • Represent Thomas & Adamson professionally and maintain high service quality standards.
Delivering Great Client Experience:

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors based on mutual respect, trust, and integrity.

Requirements:
  • A Chartered Building Surveyor with at least 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Strong understanding of current legislation relating to Health & Safety and Building Regulations.
  • Demonstrated Contract Administration and Project Management skills across various projects.
  • Awareness of Dilapidations, Due Diligence Survey Work, Schedules of Condition, and Planned Maintenance Inspections.
  • Interest in construction technology and the interplay between the construction process and building defects.
Benefits:

At Thomas & Adamson, we offer a competitive salary range of £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a comprehensive pension scheme, life insurance, and generous holiday entitlement.
