Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Worker to join their team. In this role, you will provide high-quality support to teachers in delivering education to students and assist in creating a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in managing and preparing the learning environment to ensure a safe and positive atmosphere.
  • Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development, promoting individual growth and achievement.
  • Work with small groups or one-on-one to reinforce learning material, using innovative and engaging methods to enhance student understanding.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and classroom displays, showcasing student work and promoting a sense of community.
  • Supervise students during break times, excursions, and other school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions, staying up-to-date with best practices in education and sharing expert knowledge with colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is preferred, but experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is also highly valued.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children, with a focus on creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing ideas and expertise to drive student success.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and educational practices, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures, with a focus on maintaining a safe and secure environment for all students.
