The Clinical Fellow in IVF and Reproductive Medicine will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This role involves direct involvement in clinical management, performing procedures, and supporting the overall success of the clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the medical team to ensure effective clinical management of patients
  • Perform consultations, ultrasound scans, egg collections, embryo transfers, and other relevant procedures following clinic protocols
  • Provide safe and high-quality care to patients at all times
  • Demonstrate resilience and ability to deliver exceptional patient care under pressure
  • Be available for emergency call-outs, weekend shifts, and Bank Holiday duties as scheduled
  • Contribute to a rota system to ensure efficient and consistent clinical service delivery
  • Conduct regular audits to uphold high success rates and minimize clinical complications and incidents
  • Work collaboratively as a key team member to meet clinical objectives
  • Attend clinical and relevant meetings, ensuring implementation of follow-up actions
  • Participate in research, training, and audit activities
  • Engage in clinical and research discussions and meetings
  • Operate under the supervision of the Medical Director
  • Maintain focus on patient satisfaction, safety, and successful outcomes at all times
  • Be adaptable with working hours and arrangements as required
  • Comply with HFEA and other regulatory standards
  • Lead or support Open Evenings as needed

  • Maintain high patient satisfaction and safety ratings
  • Achieve target success rates for IVF treatments
  • Ensure full compliance with HFEA and other regulatory standards
  • Minimize clinical complications and incidents
  • Actively contribute to research and audit initiatives
  • Efficiently and effectively manage on-call responsibilities and clinical services

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or Equivalent): A recognized medical degree is essential.
  • Full Registration with the GMC (General Medical Council): You must be fully registered and licensed to practice medicine in the UK.
  • Completion of Foundation Training: Successful completion of the two-year foundation programme (FY1 and FY2) is usually required.

Specialist Training:

  • Completion of Core Medical Training or Equivalent: Candidates should have completed core medical training (CMT) or equivalent, such as internal medicine training (IMT) or obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) training.
  • Experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology: Significant experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, usually through specialty training in this area, is necessary.

Clinical Experience:

  • Experience in Reproductive Medicine or IVF: Previous experience in reproductive medicine, fertility treatments, or assisted reproductive technologies (ART) is required
  • Surgical Skills: Proficiency in relevant procedures, such as ultrasound-guided egg collection and embryo transfer, is beneficial.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Clinical Skills: Strong clinical expertise in managing patients undergoing fertility treatments.
  • Research and Audit Experience: Experience in conducting or contributing to clinical research and audits is desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a team, often in a high-pressure environment.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time-management skills to handle the role's demands.
