We are seeking a skilled interpreter translator to work with us in various settings across the UK. As a freelancer, you will have the flexibility to choose your own schedule and work from the comfort of your own home.
Language Empire, established in 2001, provides professional interpreting and translation services to the public and private sectors. We are currently recruiting for face-to-face, telephone, and video interpreters, as well as translators.
The ideal candidate will have fluent English and another language, with formal qualifications such as a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) or a degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages. You will be responsible for interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services, checking the non-English speakers understanding, and liaising between the service user and service provider.
As a self-employed interpreter translator, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and settings, including the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, and Probation. You will also have access to ongoing help and support from our dedicated in-house team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services
- Checking the non-English speakers understanding
- Liaising between the service user and service provider
