About the Role:

We are seeking a Catering Assistant to join The Bedford College Group at The Bedford Sixth Form. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our students and staff in the kitchen and restaurant facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing support and assistance to customers and other staff members.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the kitchen and restaurant facilities and ensuring serviceability and security of tools and equipment.
  • Presenting a professional image to all customers and presenting and serving food to an agreed standard.

About You:

  • Knowledge of collecting monies through a cash register and PDQ machine.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer care.
  • IT skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Allergen training.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures in a catering environment.
  • Knowledge of food preparation and cooking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Access to own transport, with the ability to travel to events and various sites.
