About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Catering Assistant to join our team at The Bedford Sixth Form. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our students by providing exceptional support and assistance in the kitchen and restaurant facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance to customers and other staff members.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the kitchen and restaurant facilities, ensuring serviceability and security of tools and equipment, and adherence to health and safety requirements.
  • Present a professional image to all customers and serve food to an agreed standard.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of collecting monies through a cash register and PDQ machine.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer care.
  • IT skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Allergen training.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a catering environment.
  • Knowledge of food preparation and cooking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Access to own transport, with the ability to travel to events and various sites.
