About the Role
Sue Ryder is a leading palliative care provider in Gloucestershire, and we are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Unit team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to patients with life-limiting conditions.
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate nurse who can provide individualized care to our patients, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care. The successful candidate will have experience of working in acute medical care settings or hospice environments, with a strong foundation in medications management, symptom control, and patient assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care using evidence-based guidelines.
- Provide medicines management, including administering regular medications and setting up syringe drivers and IV medication.
- Maintain high standards of care delivery by working collaboratively within regulatory body standards and the Sue Ryder Quality Governance Policy.
- Act as an ambassador of Sue Ryder to service users and their relatives, colleagues, and members of the public.
- Have a good general knowledge of computer-based systems, including SystmOne.
- Maintain all records in line with policies and procedures.
- Support students on placement at the hospice.
Requirements
- NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Post-registration experience from an acute medical care setting or community, hospice setting.
- Palliative care experience is desirable but not essential; we welcome applications from nurses with a willingness to learn and develop within this specialty.
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team, use initiative, and possess excellent communication skills.

- An annual salary of £29,529-£31,501 (30% enhancements for nights and weekends).
