Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging and inclusive learning experiences for children aged 0-5 years
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure positive outcomes for all children and young people
  • Contribute to the development of a nurturing and supportive nursery environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions and partnerships

Qualification and Registration Requirements

You must hold a relevant practitioner-level qualification, such as HNC Childhood Practice or SVQ Level 3 Social Services, and be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within six months of taking up employment.

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • High levels of interpersonal skills and abilities to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence and child development from birth to 5 years
  • Ability to work as part of a team to achieve positive outcomes for all children and young people

Additional Requirements

You will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
