Sterilization Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Sterilisation Technician to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. As a key member of our Sterile Services department, you will be responsible for the decontamination and sterilisation of surgical instruments and providing sterile procedure packs for our hospitals and community services.
Main Responsibilities
Key duties of the role include:
- Decontaminating and sterilising surgical instruments to the highest standards
- Providing sterile procedure packs for operating theatres and other clinical areas
- Working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of patient care
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting any issues or concerns
About Us
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust operates from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital - as well as a number of community healthcare premises. Our hospitals provide a range of General Hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and Consultant-led services. We also offer a range of planned care services, including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
- Experience of working in a Sterile Services environment (desirable)
