Tax Advisory Manager Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Tax Advisory Manager to join our team in the UK. As a Tax Advisory Manager, you will be responsible for providing UK tax advisory and compliance services to our clients.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Be the principal contact with many clients on day-to-day tax matters and work with managers, senior managers, directors or partners on larger clients.
* Be involved in tax advisory and planning work on client portfolio and work with senior colleagues and specialists to deliver expertise to the local market.
* Assist with business development and attend client events.
* Review corporation tax computations and advise the client on the computational treatment of contentious issues. Co-ordinate tax payments, loss relief, capital allowances, group relief and other claims.
* Respond appropriately to requests from clients for other KPMG services. Co-ordinate a number of different teams internally to provide a single point of contact for the client in delivering a comprehensive cross-tax offering.
* Delegate delivery of work to junior colleagues while maintaining control of quality and timetables.
* Coach and develop more junior members of staff.
* Maintain strong financial management of client accounts. For example, make sure that fees are raised regularly and identify situations where overruns can be billed.
* Keep internal control records up to date and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.

**Requirements**

* Qualified (ACA/ACCA or CTA or equivalent).
* Sound knowledge of UK corporate taxation.
* Sound knowledge of accountancy principles, in particular accounting for tax (including deferred taxation and accounts disclosures).
* Strong time and task management skills. Able to remain calm when under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Sustain a high level of drive, show enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.
* Monitor and uphold high quality of service and products to clients (internal and external).
* A practical approach to problems with client focus and commercial awareness.
* Take personal responsibility and accountability for own work. Continuously learn from experiences. Seek out feedback and development opportunities.
* Ability to build good relationships with clients.
* Communicate with impact in a way that is open, honest, consistent, and clear.
* Ability to work as part of a team. Give clear directions, positive and constructive feedback. Coach less experienced staff.
* Work in a cooperative, respectful manner with colleagues, clients, and the wider community
