Job Title: Tax Assistant Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Assistant Manager to provide UK tax advisory and compliance services to our clients. As a key member of our Corporate Tax team, you will work closely with managers, senior managers, directors, or partners on larger clients, providing tax advisory and planning work on client portfolios and delivering expertise to the local market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the principal contact with many clients on day-to-day tax matters and work with senior colleagues and specialists to deliver expertise to the local market.
  • Assist with business development and attend client events.
  • Review corporation tax computations and advise clients on computational treatment of contentious issues.
  • Co-ordinate tax payments, loss relief, capital allowances, group relief, and other claims.
  • Respond to client requests for other KPMG services and co-ordinate internal teams to provide a single point of contact for clients.
  • Delegate delivery of work to junior colleagues while maintaining control of quality and timetables.
  • Coach and develop more junior members of staff.
  • Maintain strong financial management of client accounts, including raising fees and identifying overruns.
  • Keep internal control records up to date and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.

Requirements:

  • Qualified (ACA/ACCA or CTA or equivalent).
  • Sound knowledge of UK corporate taxation.
  • Sound knowledge of accountancy principles, particularly accounting for tax.
  • Strong time and task management skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A high level of drive, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.
  • Monitors and upholds high-quality service and products to clients.
  • A practical approach to problems with client focus and commercial awareness.
  • Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work, continuously learning from experiences and seeking feedback and development opportunities.
  • Ability to build good relationships with clients and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, giving clear directions, positive and constructive feedback, and coaching less experienced staff.
