Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team on a part-time basis for 25 hours a week on a permanent contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the operation of a computerized payroll system to ensure accurate and timely payment of all employees.
  2. Verify and enter information in the HR system to ensure accurate import into the payroll system.
  3. Provide support to workplaces to ensure they can provide accurate information required to run the payroll.
  4. On a regular basis, review weekly sickness/absence sheets from departments, checking for errors and recording sick hours for SSP and Occupational Sick Pay purposes.
  5. Review payroll information for errors and make necessary changes or entries in the payroll system.
  6. Progress pay and pensions' queries to settle matters of uncertainty or those requiring clarification, liaising with the Assistant Payroll Manager as needed.
  7. Calculate holiday entitlement for starters, leavers, and employees who change their contracted hours.
  8. Prepare administration forms, letters, or other correspondence as required.
  9. Reconcile the Payroll accounts on a monthly basis.
  10. Prepare, reconcile, and send pensions information to pension providers as needed.
  11. Ensure correspondence, provision of information, and training are dealt with accurately, liaising with other departments as required.
  12. Be computer literate and systems savvy.
  13. Have previous payroll experience.
