About the Role

At MW Appointments, we are seeking an experienced underwriter to join our team in a commercial lines underwriting role. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting new enquiry quotations, managing renewals, and issuing policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct new enquiry quotations by collecting background information, examining insurance proposals, and calculating premiums.
  • Manage renewals by reviewing risk, processing renewals, and issuing renewal letters.
  • Issue policies by achieving deadlines to release live policy documents with premium received.
  • Process cancellations by confirming with customers and liaising with the finance department for refunds.
  • Highlight survey risk improvement by sending out risk improvement documents and following up.
  • Build effective trading relationships with introducers and contribute to achieving results.
  • Deal with online student products by explaining student product cover and providing customer support.
  • Maintain good relationships with direct clients and corporate customers by providing high-quality service.
  • Demonstrate contributions to loss ratio control by assessing risk and imposing terms and conditions effectively.
  • Analyze retention levels and adjust after investigating the factors affecting performance.
  • Provide a consistent top-quality service to customers to enhance our reputation and increase the probability of renewals.
  • Support fellow colleagues and other tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Over 3-year experiences in insurance underwriting in commercial lines.
  • Experience in personal lines is a plus.
  • English fluency and additional language skill in Chinese is required.
  • Good knowledge and experience in underwriting insurance risks.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory practices and legislations in the industry.
  • Good time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Good communications and negotiation skills.
