Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to provide support to students with a range of additional needs, including autism, speech and language needs, sensory processing disorders, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with additional needs, helping to identify triggers and barriers to learning and implementing strategies to overcome these.
- Work with students in small groups or one-to-one to develop their cognitive, behavioral, and emotional skills.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring that students with additional needs are fully included and supported.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with additional needs.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Experience working with children with additional needs, preferably in a school setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
- Knowledge of special educational needs and the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
