About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join our team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious professional to lead our advanced non-invasive cardiology diagnostics service, with a focus on Echocardiography.

As a Senior Cardiac Physiologist, you will be responsible for scanning and reporting independently, as well as advancing your clinical and leadership skills. You will also be involved in the training and development of junior staff to achieve BSE accreditation.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Senior Cardiac Physiologist, with a strong background in technical Cardiology and a wide range of technical equipment.

You will be working in a friendly and accredited department, offering a full echo service including routine transthoracic studies, contrast, 3D, transoesophageal echo, and stress echo.

In this role, you will be expected to develop your own skills in complex procedures such as TOE, stress echo, and valve clinic. Further training will be offered where required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the advanced non-invasive cardiology diagnostics service, focusing on Echocardiography
  • Scan and report independently, with a high level of accuracy and professionalism
  • Develop and implement new procedures and protocols to improve patient care and efficiency
  • Train and mentor junior staff to achieve BSE accreditation
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services

Requirements:

  • BSc Cardiac Physiology or equivalent qualification
  • BSE or equivalent accreditation
  • Advanced knowledge of one discipline of technical Cardiology, namely Echocardiography, including accreditation
  • Caring and compassionate nature
  • Valid ILS certificate

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary package, which includes an estimated £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, annual leave, and access to continuing professional development opportunities.
