About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Midwife Practitioner to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Maternity Services team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to women and their families throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide continuity of care, advice, and support to women and their families throughout pregnancy, labour, and the postnatal period.
  • Assess care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care within the practice area.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to women and their families.
  • Participate in the on-call rota for the service and be able to take charge on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Develop and maintain high standards of midwifery care, adhering to the World Health Organisation and the NMC Midwives Rules and Code of Practice.
Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with the NMC.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with women, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong assessment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with women and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
