Job Title: Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students in a dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in providing drama support to primary and early years students, helping them develop their creativity, confidence, and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and deliver drama lessons, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Help create and organise drama activities, including rehearsals and performances, to promote student engagement and participation.
  • Guide students in exploring different dramatic techniques and concepts, fostering their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Support students in developing their creativity, confidence, and communication skills through drama, promoting a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Provide individual and group assistance during drama sessions, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a safe learning environment, promoting a culture of respect and responsibility.
  • Help with the preparation of teaching materials and resources, ensuring a well-organised and effective learning environment.
  • Contribute to assessing and evaluating students' progress, providing valuable feedback and guidance to students and teachers.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Drama or a related field, with a strong understanding of drama techniques and concepts.
  • Experience working with primary or early years students, with a proven track record of supporting students' learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic educational environment.
  • Patience and the ability to engage and motivate students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or Drama, with a strong understanding of educational theory and practice.
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant, with a proven track record of supporting students' learning and development.
  • Experience in planning and delivering drama lessons, with a strong understanding of drama techniques and concepts.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
  • First Aid certification, with a strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
Working Conditions:

The Drama Graduate Teaching Assistant will primarily work within a school setting, assisting in drama sessions and supporting students. The role may involve working with students individually or in groups, with a focus on promoting student engagement and participation.

The working hours will be part-time, with specific schedules determined by the school. The ability to adapt to the dynamic nature of an educational environment is essential, with a focus on promoting a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
