We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Greggs. As a key member of our Site Engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food manufacturing/production sites.

About the Role

This is a full-time position (44 hours per week) with a 3-shift rotation, including an additional Saturday shift (1 in 3). You will work collaboratively with the Engineering Manager and other site teams to develop engineering improvements and react to problems daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the efficient operation of production facilities and equipment.
  • React to breakdowns and find solutions quickly and effectively.
  • Monitor plant performance and equipment reliability, working in line with our policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager, Team Members, and other departments to achieve maintenance excellence.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A multi-skilled manufacturing background, ideally within the food or FMCG sectors.
  • Electrically biased, multi-skilled, and trained to an apprentice level.
  • Experience with PLC automated control systems, processes, fault-finding, and analysis (particularly Siemens TIA Portal and Step 5/7 operating systems, Allen Bradley / Mitsubishi).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 360 packages, SAP systems, and CMMS (or other), with Agility experience being advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety standards.
