About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and motivate the planning team, developing and managing their performance to drive business growth.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, generating new business opportunities.
  3. Project manage a mix of planning submissions and appeals, ensuring successful outcomes.
  4. Conduct strategic planning research and policy development, assessing development potential and providing expert guidance.
  5. Perform site inspections and assess the merits of proposals, providing recommendations for improvement.
  6. Collaborate with engineers and architects to produce high-quality drawings and supplemental planning information.
  7. Take responsibility for the strategic management of planning projects, including financial management and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements:

  1. Chartered membership of The Royal Town Planning Institute or The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  2. At least 7 years' experience in large-scale planning projects across various sectors in the private sector.
  3. At least 5 years' experience leading and growing a planning team within a planning consultancy environment.
  4. A proven track record of sustainable business generation and client base growth.
