Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of our services, including the provision and management of infrastructure using Terraform, Atlantis, and Kubernetes.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of cloud-native technologies, particularly GCP and Kubernetes, as well as a strong understanding of platform engineering principles.

Your Responsibilities
  • Simplify Complexity: Ensure scalability of both self-service platform and foundational services by applying platform engineering best practices and deep Kubernetes expertise.
  • Enable Engineering Teams: Enable our engineers to further self-service their needs with the right tools, processes, and training.
  • Evolving Technologies: Evolve GCP, GKE, and observability with scalability, reliability, and performance in mind.
  • Secure Our Infrastructure: Secure our infrastructure through DevSecOps practices.
  • FinOps Maturity: Promote and mature FinOps practices.
  • Load Testing: Ensure our systems and its components can withstand x10 load by improving our performance testing.
Your Skills
  • You are a motivated engineer who enjoys collaborating across teams to achieve shared goals, sharing knowledge with others.
  • You go below the surface and understand the intricacies of technologies you use, like Kubernetes.
  • You have built and operated highly available, high-load production Kubernetes clusters with supporting Cloud Native tooling.
  • You have proven experience in building scalable and high-performance systems, employing cutting-edge technologies and processes.
  • You apply a product mindset, solving for end users first, with technology being a means to an end.
  • You have a constant interest in learning more about the latest trends in the platform engineering space, and want to grow further.
  • You own systems end-to-end, from specification to coding, to deploying, running, and monitoring in production.
