About the Role

This exciting opportunity is part of a well-developed training program in veterinary neurology at Langford Vets, approved by the European College of Veterinary Neurology. You will have the chance to work with a large neurology team and contribute to the provision of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the neurological caseload within the Small Animal Referral Hospital and the Large Animal and Equine departments as necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional patient care and communicate effectively with colleagues.

Main Objectives:

  • Provide neurological services for the Small Animal Referral Hospital, ensuring all cases are managed efficiently.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver outstanding patient care.
  • Contribute to the growth of the referral caseload through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Perform diagnoses, treatments, and procedures to the highest standards expected by the RCVS for a referral teaching hospital.
  • Accurately record all case information.
  • Ensure client consent is obtained as necessary and keep them informed about treatment costs.
  • Report laboratory findings to clients.
  • Examine inpatients daily, keeping records up-to-date and informing relevant staff of any changes.
  • FOLLOW ALL LANGFORD VETS PROTOCOLS AND POLICIES.
  • Respond promptly to telephone inquiries.
  • Have students assigned to you on their clinical rotations and on EMS as needed.
  • Contribute to the assessment and delivery of appraisals for students on their practical rotation when applicable.
  • Supervise Veterinary Nurses to the required level.
  • Evaluate and apply correct pricing and charging for all procedures.
  • Be available to cover relief duties (minimum 1 in 4) to alleviate suffering in animals and receive emergency cases.
  • Undertake administrative tasks as directed by the hospital manager and the CEO.
  • Pursue and publish research projects to fulfill credential requirements for European Board examinations.
  • Identify and act upon opportunities for business improvement.
  • Ensure personal and others' safety, reporting accidents, near misses, and hazards, and adhering to health and safety requirements and policies as required by the business/line manager.

Salary Estimate: £65,000 - £80,000 per annum.
