About the Role

As a Poppy Appeal Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Poppy Appeal in Shropshire, ensuring the success of this unique initiative for the Royal British Legion. Your main role will be to achieve income, expenditure, and contribution targets, working closely with the Regional Poppy Appeal Manager to create and manage an income and expenditure budget.

You will also be responsible for coordinating local supporters, partners, and volunteers, building relationships to maximize fundraising potential. This will involve overseeing a portfolio of regional corporate partnerships and collaborating with internal departments to achieve collective goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Poppy Appeal in Shropshire, achieving income, expenditure, and contribution targets
  • Create and manage an income and expenditure budget, providing monthly commentary
  • Coordinate local supporters, partners, and volunteers, building relationships to maximize fundraising potential
  • Oversee a portfolio of regional corporate partnerships and collaborate with internal departments to achieve collective goals
  • Represent the Royal British Legion locally, engaging in outreach activities and providing updates to key stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess commercial knowledge, financial management skills, and experience in supporter relationship management. Strong planning, organizational, and IT skills are also essential, as is the ability to assess the commercial implications of decisions.

You will be a team player who can engage with diverse client groups, showcasing effective communication skills both in writing and verbally. A full UK driving licence is required for this role, and you will be expected to travel regularly in the course of your work.
