Job Title: Food Safety Business Manager

Kenyon Block Consultants Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Safety Business Manager to lead our Food Safety team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, legislation, and professional codes of practice.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Service Delivery: Lead the operational management of the Food Safety team, ensuring services are aligned to our corporate approach and principles.
  2. Case Management: Manage delivery across case management processes for Food Safety, Health and Safety, and related activities, including enforcement and solution-focused interventions.
  3. Team Management: Responsible for operational performance and management of the Food Safety Team activities, managing team members and working collaboratively with partner agencies and stakeholders.
  4. Strategy and Planning: Prepare and manage the delivery of the service plan, including setting performance metrics and monthly targets/forecasts.
  5. Policy Development: Own relevant policies and procedures, ensuring they are developed, reviewed, revised, and implemented to ensure compliance with statutory provisions.
  6. Culture and Values: Ensure the Council priorities, culture, and values are reflected in the Council's services, policies, and procedures.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Establish and monitor the continuous improvement approach and process for Information, Advice, and Guidance.
  8. Complaints and Appeals: Act as the Council's lead for Food Safety service complaints and appeals, managing and coordinating complaints and appeals in line with the Council's Complaints Policy.
  9. Funding and Budgeting: Prepare bids for external funding opportunities and financially plan and manage budgets for the food safety service.
  10. Transformational Change: Contribute to transformational change, encouraging and supporting innovation, learning, and improvement in all areas of the Council's activities.
Occasional Responsibilities:
  1. Advice and Reports: Give advice and prepare reports to the Council, relevant committees, elected councillors, and other relevant bodies or groups on matters relating to the team.
  2. Projects and Interventions: Deliver projects, interventions, and initiatives in-line with corporate and business plans.
  3. Witness Statements: Prepare witness statements, statements of fact, and legal cases in respect of enforcement actions and appeals.

General: Be aware of and comply with current Health and Safety Regulations and the Borough Council's Health and Safety policy and procedures as they relate to the duties and responsibilities of the post.
