To be successful in this role, you will have a comprehensive understanding of mental health legislation and be able to maintain Section 12(2) status and Approved Clinician status.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the assessment and diagnosis of patients with mental disorders
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Maintain Section 12(2) status and Approved Clinician status
  • Participate in Mental Health Act assessments and provide support to patients on supervised community treatment orders
  • Develop close working relationships with primary care clinicians and provide support and supervision to the Primary Care Mental Health team

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent qualification
  • Completion of a specialist training programme in adult or child and adolescent psychiatry
  • Section 12(2) status and Approved Clinician status
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
