The post holder will contribute to the assessment and treatment of patients with mental disorders in a community setting, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and healthcare professionals. To be successful in this role, you will have a comprehensive understanding of mental health legislation and be able to maintain Section 12(2) status and Approved Clinician status.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the assessment and diagnosis of patients with mental disorders
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans
- Maintain Section 12(2) status and Approved Clinician status
- Participate in Mental Health Act assessments and provide support to patients on supervised community treatment orders
- Develop close working relationships with primary care clinicians and provide support and supervision to the Primary Care Mental Health team
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent qualification
- Completion of a specialist training programme in adult or child and adolescent psychiatry
- Section 12(2) status and Approved Clinician status
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
