Advanced Physiotherapist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Physiotherapist to join our team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing rehabilitation services to patients in their own homes, residential and nursing facilities, and an intermediate care unit.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a team, and be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service.
Main Responsibilities- To undertake comprehensive assessments of patients/clients, including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies.
- To take delegated responsibility from the Band 7 clinician for managing patients/clients with particular conditions and provide specialist assessment and treatment plans.
- To work within Trust clinical guidelines, HCPC, and Registrant Body guidelines, and have a working knowledge of national and local standards.
- To provide specialist clinical advice, teaching, and training to other members of the MDT regarding the management of patients.
- To train, supervise, and performance manage more junior staff and students.
- To assess capacity, gain valid informed consent, and work within a legal framework with patients/clients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
- To maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date documentation, and communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate disciplines.
- Degree in Physiotherapy.
- HCPC registration at the time of appointment.
- Clinical Educators Certificate.
- Post-Grad accredited study, e.g., MSc in relevant health studies.
- Previous NHS experience.
- Advanced clinical knowledge relevant to the care environment and evidence of evidence-based practice in a relevant health setting.
- Awareness of own strengths and limitations.
- Knowledge of relevant national policies and guidance and relevant assessment tools.
- Evidence of effective working within an MDT.
- Demonstrate experience of problem-solving approaches.
- Demonstrate continuous Professional Development.
- Audit and research in a clinical area.
- Experience of line managing a team, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals, and effective delegation and co-ordination.
- Experience of Service development.
- Demonstrate ability to motivate team performance to achieve objectives.
- Ability to prioritize and work to deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings.
- Accurate record keeping, report writing, and IT skills, including presentation skills.
- Have a flexible approach to working with good time management.
- Ability to travel various hospital locations by own car or assisted driver.
