Job Title: High Speed Digital Electronics Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled High Speed Digital Electronics Engineer to join our team at Leonardo in Newcastle. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high speed digital electronics systems, working closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high speed digital printed circuit boards using the latest FPGA, microprocessor, and high speed interconnect technologies
  • Support the full hardware lifecycle from requirements analysis to acceptance test and delivery to customer
  • Document and record work products, maintaining configuration management and providing plans and progress reports
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team of engineers to resolve complex integration problems on complex systems
  • Analyze system level requirements documents and understand their application to hardware designs
  • Develop high speed serial communication links and knowledge of associated protocols and architectures
  • Integrate hardware, firmware, and software components of microprocessor-based designs onto hardware platforms
  • Apply a structured hardware process to the full design lifecycle, with a methodical approach to debugging, testing, and verification
  • Liaise with suppliers of key components and assemblies
  • Communicate effectively across different disciplines, both verbally and in written form
  • Schedule work and manage time in keeping with project timescales and budgets
