Resource Mobilization and Technical Cooperation

The International Maritime Organization is seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer to lead the development of resource mobilization strategies and implement the resource mobilization plan. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of IMO's comprehensive technical cooperation strategy and ensure its alignment with the IMO-wide Strategy and biennial Work Programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement resource mobilization strategies to secure funding for IMO's technical cooperation activities.
  • Lead the implementation of the resource mobilization plan, including coordinating proposals for donors and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate the resource mobilization plan to track progress and adjust as needed.
  • Coordinate the preparation of donor-specific reports and provide substantive backstopping to resource mobilization events.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize potential partners to align with IMO's objectives and showcase key partnership opportunities.

Management of Multi-donor Trust Funds

The Technical Officer will act as the TCID focal point for matters dealing with IMO's multi-donor thematic trust funds. Key responsibilities include developing Terms of References for new Trust Funds, reviewing and modifying ToRs as required, and ensuring compliance with regulations and rules.

Knowledge Management and Innovation

The successful candidate will develop and maintain an information repository on resource mobilization, prepare and disseminate promotional materials, and supervise the development of content related to resource mobilization. They will also coordinate IMO's Knowledge Partnership Officer Network and associated activities.

General Duties

The Technical Officer will lead the development of resource mobilization strategies, draft project concept and proposals, coordinate the preparation of project documents, and conduct stakeholder/donor meetings as required. They will also carry out other duties within their professional competence as may be required by the Director, TCID.
