Student Support Officer

Victoria College of Arts and Design is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Officer to join our Manchester campus. As a key member of our Student Support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the academic success and well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized support to students in areas such as academic progress, personal issues, and career guidance
  • Act as the primary point of contact for students via email, phone, and in-person enquiries
  • Manage student attendance and absences as per the university's policies
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to identify and address student concerns, and provide feedback on academic progress
  • Provide regular and accurate reports to the university and partner universities
  • Monitor and track student attendance, academic progress, and behavior, and intervene where necessary
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Excellent customer service skills, and communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by students in higher education and an ability to provide appropriate support
  • Working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge in Microsoft Suites
