Job Summary

IKM Testing UK is seeking a highly skilled Senior Valve Technician to join our team. As a key member of our valve service team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the maintenance, repair, and testing of valves and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to valve technicians in the maintenance, repair, and testing of valves and associated equipment.
  • Conduct site surveys and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop safe working procedures.
  • Supervise and manage the work of valve technicians, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard and in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Develop and implement quality plans and procedures to ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standard.
  • Interface with customers and other stakeholders to provide technical support and expertise in the maintenance, repair, and testing of valves and associated equipment.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance, repair, and testing of valves and associated equipment, including disassembly, inspection, and reassembly.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including maintenance records, test reports, and quality plans.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Secondary level education or equivalent.
  • Apprenticeship completed within a valves environment.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a valve service and/or valve manufacturing environment.
  • Fully familiar with NBIC, BS, ANSI, API, ASME, and ISO codes and their applications.
  • Additional mechanical skills, including basic machining.
  • Previous experience working in the Oil and Gas industry, specifically in the area of valve sales and maintenance.
  • Computer literate on MS Office applications, especially report writing, tender preparation, and presentations.
  • Basic understanding of P&ID's and ability to read and interpret maintenance, repair manuals.

  • Ability to work in conditions consistent with a servicing organisation, including work environments ranging from a workshop to on-site at a heavy industry facility.
  • Driven, reliable, and flexible, with enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Strong quality focus and ability to prioritise tasks with minimal supervision.
