Housing Support Advisor

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Independent Living Specialist to join our team at the Guinness Partnership. As an Independent Living Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing an intensive housing management service to our customers. This will involve developing strong relationships with customers, assisting them in finding suitable accommodation, and ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities under their tenancy agreement.
You will also be responsible for helping customers access the necessary support and resources to maintain their independence, including assistive technology, aids, and adaptations. Additionally, you will conduct regular site inspections to ensure the scheme is fully operational and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide housing management services to customers, including developing customer relationships and assisting with tenancy management matters.
- Assist customers in accessing support and resources to maintain their independence, including assistive technology, aids, and adaptations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure the scheme is fully operational and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor the quality of contractors, such as window cleaning and grounds maintenance.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of working with vulnerable adults and a proven ability to foster a spirit of co-operation and independence.
- Demonstrable commitment to Equality and Diversity.
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit individual needs or when explaining technical information.
- Previous experience of carrying out administrative work, including numeracy tasks.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle.
