Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in a specialist Autism Provision. The successful candidate will work with autistic children, providing one-to-one and small group support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to autistic children
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation, and implement strategies to support children's learning
  • Monitor and record children's progress, and report to teachers and other relevant staff
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Experience working with autistic children and young people
  • Knowledge of autism and its impact on learning and behavior
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Desirable Qualifications:

  • PECS and/or Makaton training
  • Team Teach certification
