Job Title: Senior Engineer

Location: Plymouth

Contract Type: Inside IR35

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting the project team to achieve the objectives for the Dockside Rigs and Dock Bottom Village, ensuring adherence to the defined scope, quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints.

The position entails overseeing the engineering and technical components from the initial identification of requirements through to the final handover phase.


Essential Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess a robust understanding of engineering principles essential for the technical management of intricate design developments throughout the entire design lifecycle, including:

  • Capital Equipment
  • Mechanical Handling Systems
  • Steel and Aluminium Handling and Processing Industries
  • Heavy Industry Workshop and Process Lines
  • Maritime Defence
  • Oil / Gas / Subsea

Proven experience in project specification, planning, management, and budgeting is necessary to support design, construction, manufacturing, acceptance, installation, operation, and maintenance activities.

Experience in substantiating process equipment for the validation of Nuclear Safety Functions is also required.


Technical Proficiencies:

The candidate should have experience with:

  • NEC 4 ECC and PSC contracts (Options A, C & E)
  • CEMAR (desirable)
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering office software applications (essential)
  • Building Information Management (BIM) (desirable)
  • MS Office Suite

Capability to obtain SC clearance is essential.

Familiarity with CDM 2015 regulations is required.

A degree, degree apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline is mandatory.

Chartered Engineer status, registered with the Engineering Council (or actively pursuing), is preferred.
