The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Handling Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team of nuclear specialists. This company is a leading international engineering, project management and services provider to the highly regulated nuclear, defence, oil and gas, and science and research industries.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Handling Engineer, you will assist and support the Design Manager in the delivery of project scope. Your responsibilities will include drafting technical design documentation, overseeing and supporting the generation of a 3D model and 2D CAD drawings, drafting technical queries and change records, and maintaining and updating project registers of technical queries, change requests, design review requests, and design review actions.

Key Qualifications & Experience
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of engineering works, e.g. mechanical handling, mechanical or electrical systems/services.
  • Experience of mechanical design, including new or modification to structures and systems.
  • The ability to follow a nuclear safety led engineering process and maintain accurate records and document/drawing revision control.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar software to oversee and support production of models and drawings of mechanical components with electrical harnesses.
  • Demonstrable communication skills and the ability to host and participate in design meetings across Microsoft teams whilst working remotely and on site.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • Knowledge of cranes.
  • Experience of the nuclear civil or defence industries.
