We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Britwind Limited. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing and improving our small wind turbines.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design and a proven track record of testing and fault-finding in electrical systems. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve performance, safety, and efficiency in our turbines, and for working closely with our production team to develop production methods that are robust and efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve our small wind turbines, including power conversion equipment, wind turbine controllers, and fleet-wide monitoring systems.
- Continuously improve safety, reliability, and performance through re-engineering of existing components.
- Specify engineered components, liaise with suppliers, and manage subcontractors.
- Manage engineering changes, version numbering, and document control.
- Leverage knowledge of power grid rules and connection criteria to advise and influence internally and externally.
- Integrate wind turbines into hybrid wind/solar and storage systems, both on-grid and off-grid.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and industry standards.
- Develop and manage electrical installation, user, and maintenance manuals.
- Provide technical support, both remotely and on-site, to resellers, installers, and customers.
- Work with the production team to develop production methods that are robust and efficient.
- Analyze real-world performance data for fault-finding and continuous improvement purposes.
- Develop remote monitoring systems for design validation, performance management, and product improvement.
- Evaluate designs and produce documentation for external certification and approvals.
- Provide technical support for procurement and manufacturing processes.
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer who can bring their expertise to our team. The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
- Strong experience in electrical design and testing.
- Proven track record of fault-finding and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
